Over 100 people were on Monday(today) arrested in Enugu as they declared independence and raised the Biafran flag as they marched through the streets of the Enugu State capital.
The group had gathered on Sunday to mark the birthday of the late Ikemba Nnewi, Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu.
The spokesman of the Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force disclosed that the command has arrested 101 people in connection with the declaration.
Benjamin Onwuka who leads the group had announced back in July that the formal declaration of Biafra would take place on July 5, 2012.
