Dana Plane Crash Update: Jonathan Inspects Crash Site

President Goodluck Jonathan arrived at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja around 1p.m and headed to the site of Sunday’s Dana Air flight 9J 992 crash at Iju Ishaga, Lagos.
Jonathan had to go from the airport to the site of the crash by road instead of by helicopter, perhaps due to the densely populated nature of the area.
Jonathan told reporters that his administration was “totally committed” to improving air safety and promised to take action to improve the sector.
Major roads leading to the site were blocked by security agents one hour before his arrival, leading to a gridlock.
The roads were reopened briefly after he had arrived the scene.
At the site, Jonathan gave the assurance that a high-level investigation would be conducted into the crash and condoled with the families of the victims.
Security was heightened in the area early Monday, as policemen blocked some roads leading to the site.
State Security Service agents are also on ground ahead of Jonathan’s arrival- Trend News
